Information

Retired from the Auburn, New York Fire Department as Fire Lieutenant Investigator & Inspector in October of 1995.   Was married to Nory.  They had 6 children.

Memorable Moments Aboard the Savage

While aboard the Savage I worked as a deck ape for three months until I was asked to report to Chief Weber and work as a Signalman. Ended up being lead Signalman my last two years, and slept in front of the engine telegraph machine while in Vietnam.

While in Vietnam, I got to replace members of the PBRs (Patrol Boat River) and traveled up river on a couple occasions.  I also got to go in some Vietnam villages on landing parties.

Battle Scars!

Should have received a purple heart due to the tattoo received in Hong Kong,  but was told it wasn't in a war zone.

My 15 Minutes of Fame

Working with 20th Century Fox on the film "Tora, Tora, Tora."   Total earnings, ninety dollars for my six second screen debut.      Also see:  Tora! Tora! Tora!
